Most of the update is the upper: re-engineered mesh and a padded tongue aimed at the lace bite the 2 was known for, plus a 2E width, the first in the line. Underneath, On added a third layer of CloudTec pods while the published stack stayed at 35 and 29 mm, so the ride is reshaped rather than raised. It is still a firm 10.4 oz shoe, and it costs $10 more.
