Supercritical EVA with an Active Foot Frame heel cradle
The Bondi is Hoka's flagship max-cushion trainer, the original big-stack road shoe, and the one line in the range built for easy miles, recovery days, and people who stand all day. Its history since 2020 has two turning points. The Bondi 8 (2022) was the first full redesign in years, taller and wider with an extended flared heel, and a slice of Bondi 7 loyalists never accepted the bigger fit; Hoka reissued the 7 as a retro in 2024, which tells you how that went. The Bondi 9 (2025) then swapped the old CMEVA for a supercritical foam, the line's biggest ride change ever, and mostly won people back. Offshoots sit outside the numbered succession: the plated Bondi X, the slip-resistant Bondi SR work shoe, and the retro 7 itself, which now lives on as a lifestyle model. No Bondi 10 has been announced as of July 2026.
