Supercritical PWRRUN+ foam
The Ride is Saucony's neutral daily trainer, sitting between the plush Triumph and the lighter Kinvara. For years its steadiness was the identity: an 8 mm drop in every single version, one release per year, upper tweaks between real updates. Then the Ride 17 (2024) swapped in full-length beaded PWRRUN+ foam and turned the line soft, bouncy, and an ounce heavier, the closest thing to grief this line has produced. The 18 cleaned that up, and the 19 (January 2026) moved to lighter supercritical foam to the best reviews since the fan-favorite 15. This page tracks every version since 2020. The same-numbered Guide is the Ride's stability twin, a separate line not covered here.

Most runners skip a version or two rather than buying every update. These compare a version against the one two updates on, with the net change rather than a single step.
We ranked the shoes that ride closest to it (a balanced, moderately soft everyday trainer with an 8 mm drop) and called out the honest differences.
