Hoka Arahi 9
2026Stocked at Amazon10 oz · 40/32 mm stack · 8 mm drop
Dual-density compression-molded EVA with a centered H-Frame
The Arahi is Hoka's lighter stability trainer, historically the supportive counterpart to the Clifton. Versions 4 through 7 used a firmer J-Frame that wrapped from the lateral heel along the medial side, giving the line unusually persistent support into the forefoot. The Arahi 8 made the decisive break in 2025: it removed the J-Frame for a centered H-Frame, raised the drop from 5 to 8 mm, added stack, and softened the ride. The Arahi 9 (October 2026, current) keeps that platform while reinforcing medial hold and outsole durability. This page tracks versions 4 through 9. The max-cushion Gaviota and slip-resistant Arahi SR are separate lines, not numbered successors.

Most runners skip a version or two rather than buying every update. These compare a version against the one two updates on, with the net change rather than a single step.
We ranked the shoes that ride closest to it (a rockered, moderately cushioned stability trainer with centered H-Frame guidance and an 8 mm drop) and called out the honest differences.
