The Adizero Boston is Adidas's plated performance trainer, the training companion to the Adios Pro race shoe and the middle of the Adizero pyramid. It is really two lines wearing one name: through the Boston 9 (2020) it was a low, firm, Boost-based shoe you could race in, and from the 10 (2021) it is a maximal Lightstrike Pro trainer with EnergyRods, a reboot loyalists grieved loudly for two generations until the softer 12 (2023) won reviewers back and the 13 (May 2025, after a skipped 2024) settled the argument. Do not confuse it with the Adizero Adios, the low-stack racing flat, or the Adios Pro, the carbon-rod marathon racer; the Boston is the durable one you train in.
