The complete Adidas Adizero Adios lineage

The Adizero Adios is the most decorated racing-flat lineage in the sport: four straight Berlin marathon world records fell in it between 2008 and 2014, the last records set before carbon plates. Since 2020 the name has been searching for a job. Race day moved to the carbon-rod Adios Pro, the 6 (2021) rebuilt the flat as a $120 speed trainer, the 8 (2023) crept back toward the old geometry, and the 9 (2025, current) went all the way back: a 6.2 oz full-length Lightstrike Pro flat with the stabilizing Torsion rods deleted, brilliant for efficient striders and a documented hazard for heel strikers. Do not confuse it with the Adios Pro, the max-stack marathon racer; this page tracks the plain Adios since 2020.
