The complete On Cloudsurfer lineage

The Cloudsurfer is On's soft daily trainer, and the name carries a trap. On's first shoe, sold in 2010, was called the Cloudsurfer, and that line ran to a Cloudsurfer 6 around 2022: a firm, plated shoe on the brand's old foam with nothing in common with what wears the name now. On reused the name in March 2023 for an unrelated shoe and restarted the count, so the versions on this page begin again at 1. The modern Cloudsurfer was the first On running shoe built with no Speedboard, because the CloudTec Phase midsole collapses in sequence and does the plate's job. Reviewers called it the best running shoe On had made to that point. The Cloudsurfer 2 (2025) made it firmer and more durable and split them hard, though owners rate it above the original. A Cloudsurfer 3 on a new supercritical foam called SURREAL is due in October 2026 at $170. Three more shoes share the name without joining the succession: the Cloudsurfer Next, the Cloudsurfer Max (which is the old Cloudeclipse renamed) and the Cloudsurfer Trail models.
